Senate Leadership Urged to Provide Funding to Clean Water and Drinking Water SRFs in Jobs Bill

A Dear Colleague letter was signed on January 26 by 30 Senators to Majority Leader Harry Reid and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell urging Senate leadership to provide funding to Clean Water and Drinking Water State Revolving Funds in any jobs bill. WIN worked the halls on Congress to drum-up support/signers for this letter. The letter requests that as the leadership pursues a package of investments designed to spur job creation and growth in the economy at large, that it includes a significant investment for water and wastewater infrastructure at least on par with overall funding levels included in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). The ARRA provided $3 billion for the Clean Water SRF and $3 billion for the Drinking Water SRF.
